AN EARLY HUDSON CHRISTMAS: “BRINGING OLD WORLD TRADITIONS to the NEW WORLD”
This winter season the Octagon House Museum’s theme is “An Early Hudson Christmas: Bringing Old World Traditions to the New World.” The setting is 1860s Hudson and the storyline highlights a number of Old World traditions, some of which are still in practice today. A beautifully decorated tree will be featured in the parlor, with wreathes in the windows, just as though the Moffat-Hughes family were with us for the holidays. Greens adorning our entries and passageways remind us of the Victorian era.
We welcome guests to shop in the Carriage House Gift Shop during regular tour hours. We have stocked the shop with new seasonal gift items. Visit the shop for Michel Design Works candles and diffusers, fun Christmas gifts, and so much more to make your gift giving easy!
The museum is open on the weekends in December prior to Christmas (December 4 & 5, 11 & 12, and 18 ) from 11 am to 4 pm. Please note the Museum will be hosting its Holiday Tea on Sunday, December 19th.
